Initial Exam
The visit itself consists of an oral exam followed by a complete explanation of the findings. If orthodontic correction is indicated, Dr. Bill or Dr. Kraig will initially explain things in a general way. The only way that the best possible treatment course can be explained will be by having a special set of records taken. These records are essential in determining the best overall treatment plan. The records consist of a panographic x-ray (full mouth), a cephalometric x-ray (entire skull x-ray), articulated study models (molds of the teeth) and photographs.
Consultation Appointment
A consultation is a 30-minute appointment where the Doctors will sit down with you to review your records, the planned treatment, length of treatment, and the exact cost of treatment. Our office manager will discuss a number of payment options to best suit your needs.
Bonding Appointment
A bonding appointment is the visit when the braces are put on. This appointment is 1 hour long.

Adjustment Appointments
When you are in braces, you will be coming in once every 6-8 weeks. The majority of monthly appointments are 20 minutes in duration, at which time the Doctors will make adjustments, bend wires, etc.
Removal of Braces
Congratulations! You, or your child, have reached the memorable day when the braces are removed. This 60 minute appointment is done in the morning or early p.m. When the braces are removed, we do clean the teeth to enhance that beautiful straight smile. Retainers are also placed at this appointment. We do encourage you, as we have throughout your treatment, to make an appointment with your family dentist for a thorough check-up.
